Best Samsung Galaxy A56 Camera Settings

A stabilised 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide and 4K video, with One UI 9 since October 2026.

Published ·Last updated

The Galaxy A56 has a stabilised 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide and a 5MP macro, with no telephoto. GSMArena found its daylight photos detailed and its selfies excellent, while Night mode was unreliable. These settings lean on the main camera and work around the rest, and they're starting points to adjust for your own light.

Quick answer: On the Galaxy A56, shoot most photos with the 1x main camera at the default resolution, and use the 2x crop for portraits and details in daylight. Brace the phone at night and compare Photo mode with Night mode. Record 4K at 30fps with stabilisation on, and skip the macro camera.

Settings by situation

Everyday and travel

The 1x main camera with OIS is the one to trust on this phone.

Menu paths on the A56

The A56 launched on One UI 7 and Samsung promises six OS upgrades. SamMobile reported One UI 8.5 reaching it in May 2026, and stable One UI 9 (Android 17) went global by 19 October 2026 after starting in South Korea. Samsung's A-series camera page still uses One UI 7 names, so the paths below give those. On One UI 9 some may match the flagship names instead, such as Composition guide for Grid lines and Scene detection under Photo enhancer.

What the A56 can't do

  • There's no telephoto, so 2x is a crop and digital zoom stops at 10x.
  • Expert RAW doesn't support the A56, and Samsung doesn't list RAW capture for it.
  • Rear video stops at 4K 30fps, with no 4K at 60fps, no 8K and no Samsung Log.
  • Photo Assist and Generative Edit stay on Samsung's Galaxy AI phones. Our Galaxy AI camera guide explains which tools need it.
  • The 5MP macro and the ultra-wide are both fixed focus.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best camera settings for the Galaxy A56?+

Use the 1x main camera at its default resolution with Auto HDR and grid lines on, and use the 2x crop for portraits in daylight. At night, brace the phone and compare Photo mode with Night mode. Record 4K at 30fps with stabilisation on.

Does the Galaxy A56 have Expert RAW?+

Expert RAW doesn't support the A56, since Samsung's list covers flagship S and Z phones. Pro mode gives manual ISO, exposure value, white balance and colour tone instead.

Can the Galaxy A56 record 4K at 60fps?+

GSMArena and Android Authority list 4K at 30fps as the top rear video mode, with 60fps available at Full HD.

Should I use the macro camera on the Galaxy A56?+

Skip it for most close-ups. GSMArena found its fixed focus made sharp shots hard on the first try, so shoot at 2x from a short distance instead. Our macro photography guide has more options.

Does the Galaxy A56 get One UI 9?+

SamMobile reported stable One UI 9 rolling out globally by 19 October 2026. Samsung promises the A56 six OS upgrades, so more are due.
